Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park is the largest National Park in Uganda and it is the Giraffe paradise of Uganda. The park gets its name after the Murchison Falls that are within it. Here the Nile is pushed through a 7 m gap down a 43 m fall. This means a visit to the top of the falls is an impressive experience, where you hear, see and feel the power of the water.
During a visit to Murchison Falls National Park the top activity is game-drives on the savannah to search for lion, leopard, hyenas, giraffes, elephants and more. While driving along the game-drive tracks you are also likely to see interesting animals like the Abessinian Ground Hornbill. Another highlight to a visit in Murchison Falls National Park is the boat-cruise on the mighty river Nile all the way up to the bottom of the falls. During the boat-cruise you can expect to see hippos, crocodiles and buffaloes enjoying the water. As mentioned above it is well worth a visit to go to the top of the falls to experience the power of the water.
